About Us

The Eagle Cap Extreme is continuing to grow with 3 races available! We currently have a 100-mile eight-dog team race, and a 30-mile 2-day mid-distance race, and a 15-mile 2-day mid-distance race.

All races run concurrently and start at Salt Creek Summit, east of the town of Joseph, Oregon. The 100-mile race runs to the Betakot Checkpoint before continuing a scenic loop returning to Betakot where they have their vet check and mandatory 3-hour layover of their overall 6-hour floating mandatory rest. They then return to Salt Creek Summit for the finish. The two-day 30-mile and 15-mile races both start and finish at Salt Creek Summit.
