Troy first became enamored with sled dogs during his 15 years in South Central Alaska. Handling dogs at the Iditarod race start and witnessing the World Championship Sled Dog Race evoked a fascination and appreciation for the commitment mushers have to their dogs and to their lifestyle.
A long-time wilderness guide and naturalist, Troy developed and operated an eco-tour program in Wallowa County for Wallowa Resources, a local non-profit organization. He currently performs biological surveys on a contract basis throughout the western U.S.
Wallowa County is a perfect fit for Troy’s love for stunning natural beauty, rugged landscapes, and strong sense of community. His outdoor pursuits include skiing, backpacking, cycling, running, and surfing.
Soon after moving to Enterprise in 2005, Troy became involved with the Eagle Cap Extreme, where he volunteers as the Race Start/Finish Coordinator. He is also a member of the Eagle Cap Nordic Club, the local Mountain Bike Club, and volunteers at the Enterprise Community Ice Rink.
